MARTA is $1.75 each time you get on. You need to buy tokens instead of using real money, but there are plenty of token machines that you will easily find. The Holiday Inn (below) is a short walk from the MARTA station and the Holiday Inn has a free shuttle from the rail station as well, just give them a call when you arrive in Decatur (404-371-0204). The above link shows all of the MARTA stops. Again, you would get on at the Airport (bottom S 7) then travel to 5 Points (Middle O) then get off to switch to an east bound train/bus that will take you to the Decatur station (E 6). From that drop off point, the hotel (Holiday Inn Select) is within a couple blocks walking distance. The Decatur Yoga and Pilates studio is also withing walking distance, about 4 blocks from the MARTA Decatur station and about 2 blocks from the hotel. All of this is a lot easier than it may sound. This link is called Airport Station Helper. It shows where the MARTA station is located within the airport. Also, ANYONE who works at the airport will be able to point you in the right direction to the MARTA trains. Once you click on either of these links, you will be able to explore a lot of information about MARTA and Atlanta. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about this. Taxi The training site is 17 miles from the airport. A taxi will cost $40. Once you get into Decatur, you will not need a car - it is a walking town. Renting a car It will not be necessary to rent a car during the training as public transportation from the airport to the training site is excellent and Decatur is a very walkable community. Grand Beach, Michigan-Foundations November 29-Dec.2, 2007TransportationBy PlaneSouth Bend Regional Airport (Airport code: SBN) is the nearest airport, but it is fairly small, which means it is also generally more expensive. Chicago Midway (MDW) is the next closest and is a major airport. Chicago O'Hare (ORD) is also within shuttle/rental car distance, and is the country's most major airport. You can rent a car at any of the airports or take the airport shuttle from them to the Michigan City Holiday Inn (not the Training site), and then from the Holiday Inn to the Grand Beach Inn (the Training site). If you are taking the airport shuttle, call In Time Delivery, a local taxi company to schedule your pickup at the Holiday Inn. You must call In Time Delivery two or more days in advance to schedule your pickup: 219-898-3138. From Midway or O'HareBy Taxi ShuttleIn Time Delivery, a local taxi service, will pick up trainees from either of the Chicago airports and take them directly to the Grand Beach Inn, in contrast to the Airport Bus Shuttle below, which drops off at the Michigan City Holiday Inn (which is about 10 miles from the Grand Beach Inn, the trainings site). From there you will have to get a ride from either In Time Delivery or from another trainee to the training site. (If all else fails, someone from the YK office can pick you up from the Holiday Inn and take you to the training site, just please let us know several days in advance: 219-872-9611.) In Time Delivery also said if he was transporting multiple people from the airport to the GB Inn, they might be able to match or beat the normal combined price of the Airport Bus Shuttle (below) and his price from the Holiday Inn to the Grand Beach Inn, so this could be a great way to go if you can get a bunch of people together. LodgingGrand Beach Inn The Inn is not only excellent, but is also the training site. However, if you would like other options, please try the Duneland Beach Inn (219-874-7729) or check Expedia for nearby lodgings. Be sure to check Michigan City, Indiana and New Buffalo, Michigan since they are both within 5-10 miles of the training site. We also have a list of nearby lodgings. If you do not stay at the Grand Beach Inn, you can pay $25 per day for breakfast and lunch if you wish. There are no restaurants within walking distance from the Grand Beach Inn or the Duneland Beach Inn and taxis are not available either. We recommend that people carpool from the airport, their home-towns or wherever, if possible, so they can get around. Airport Best way to get from the airport to the training site:Lou will be helping to pre-arrange group taxis for those traveling together from the airport if wanted. She will be getting everyone in touch by e-mail prior to the training. Pre-bookings of 4-door sedans, mini-vans, or Wheelchair Accessible Taxis are not required from the airport; simply inform one of the BC Corps Commissionaires (stationed at the taxi queue area on the curb and roadway). BC Transit- Take '424 airport stn' from Airport Level 1 to Airport Stn Bay 5 (approx. 7 minutes) Transfer to bay 4 and take '100 - 22nd Street Station' drops off at 22nd Street Station Bay 8 (approx. 40 minutes) Transfer to 22nd Street Station Skytrain and take Expo line and get off at Surrey Central (approx. 12 minutes) Surrey Bus Station is below Skytrain Station. Take either '501 Langley' or 'C74 Fraser Heights' all these buses go straight down 104 Avenue so ask for Ramada if stopping there, or Sheraton and the drivers will drop you off at the nearest stop.
