“I had an amazing Foundations experience. Lynda, Judy & Candy truly inspired me. They are very gifted teachers and I learned so much that weekend. I came out feeling excited, inspired, creative & more confident. I love how YogaKids looks at the whole child and their creative and unique ways to teach yoga to children. I love the depth of the program. Foundations helped me realize to teach kids successfully I have to heal my own inner child, play more and become a big kid myself! By being present, playful, real and joyful, the kids will feel that and respond. I believe YogaKids can help me grow and become the best kid’s teacher I can be. I am very grateful for this amazing program and the many gifted YogaKids teachers and trainers who share this work from their heart.”

“Jazzy
is now10 but as a "highly spirited child" there were times when we just
didn't know what to do to help her with that "volcano" that could erupt
any minute. I think she was about 3/4 when she started using the 1st
video made. It was a fun family activity that finally became second
nature for her, to the point she knew when she needed to do "her Yoga"
and unrolled her mat and started doing the poises. I think was when we
were at a playground and a young girl decided to take her sand toys, in
the past it would have been a battle. but suddenly she just stood up
right there in the middle of the busy playground and started doing the
volcano poise. Rather fast as she had "a lot of Lova" to get ride of,
but it really helped her to calm down and focus. After explaining to the
other moms what she was doing they asked me about the "Yoga Kids"
video...
Thank you so much. She still gets her yoga mat out and If I am lucky she pretends to give a class to me. Thank You so Much. from Seattle.”

“Thank you for helping me help so many others. YogaKids is a unique and special gift that keeps on giving!...I am trying to do exactly whatyou have been doing for years, bringing YogaKids to the schools. At the moment I am at one school, for elementary grades 1-6th, and the response has been remarkable. Parents, babysitters, and grandparents have commented to me, as well as the yoginis themselves, how much yoga has helped them stay calmer, become more focused, have more confidence, and overcome their fears.”

"I have been interested in the benefits of yoga for children for a long time now. I have worked as a pediatric OT at an integrated preschool for 15 years, and have informally used yoga as a modality to acquire core strength, balance, motor planning, and bilateral integration. After taking a course on primitive reflex integration for children with Autism, it really occurred to me that there was more to doing yoga with children than I really knew. At that time, I contacted YogaKids to find out more about their approach and began volunteering with a Certified YogaKids Teacher. I became fascinated with the varied the benefits to all children, and am now in the process of becoming a certified YogaKids teacher. What I love the most about YogaKids is that it is an approach to educating the whole child through yoga. Along with yoga, each class is accompanied by other elements such as music, games, language, math, art, and storytelling. I have found it to be a very creative way to plan a lesson or treatment session, and easy to incorporate with almost any theme. I am most impressed by the ability it gives children to gain skills, in not only motor areas of development, but also in the area of self-regulation. We talk about ways in which we use yoga to calm or energize as needed throughout the class, the day, or in our lives. My favorite story was told to me by the mom of a 4 year old girl with Cerebral Palsy who has taken my YogaKids classes. The mom said, "I found her upstairs with her Little People arranged in a circle, like at yoga class. She was holding 2 of the Little People, as though they were talking to each other, reciting the YogaKids pledge you say at the start of each class:
I believe in myself
I love and honor my body
I will do my personal best
I will stay on my yoga mat
I can use yoga anytime, anywhere to calm myself, energize myself, or make myself feel better!"
Her desire to play at home using our YogaKids class as her imaginary setting, demonstrates the essence of why I am dedicated and passionate about it. Kids Love it, parents describe it as a positive experience for their child, and I believe it can make a difference in the lives of children of all abilities!"
