Amy started her yoga training in 2015. She fell in love with not only how yoga helped heal her body, but also brought forth a sense of peace and calm to her busy mind. Amy completed her Yoga Alliance 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Lotus Bloom Yoga in August 2016. She is also a practicing Physical Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Education. For the last 21 years, Amy has found joy in helping individual’s access their physical environment through their greatest form of mobility and assistive technology.
In addition to her ongoing education, Amy attended the Art and Science of Teaching Chair Yoga to support individuals with underlying balance and mobility challenges. She became certified through Yoga of the Heart, Cardiac and Cancer Certification Training with Nischala Joy Devi, for teaching yoga to people living with heart disease, cancer, neuromuscular challenges, and other health impairments. These trainings have directly influenced her teaching and ongoing interest in yoga for stress management and healthy living.
As a physical therapist, Amy works with big and little bodies. Combining the health benefits of yoga and mindfulness into school practice directly supports and enhances student academic access. Amy is a currently pursuing her YogaKids certification and is a Yoga Kids Apprentice (YKA).
