After sustaining a traumatic brain injury in 2008, Shannon turned to yoga to cope with the lifelong circumstances of living life beyond her head injury. Yoga helped her regain her balance, both on and off the mat, and she began practicing with her oldest daughter when she was two years old. Shannon decided to pursue her YKT certification, to broaden her understanding of yoga and reach as many children as possible. In 2019, Shannon became certified to teach power yoga and enjoys teaching yoga to both children, teens and adults. Yoga has given her a new purpose and passion, and Shannon is thrilled to be a part of the YogaKids community.
