January 20, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - February 10, 2018 @ 2:30 pm EST

This is a stand-alone training event AND the first step of our Full Certification track.

Learn all the benefits of Full Certification here.

This online course, made of up 4 live webinars, introduces attendees to the YogaKids’ one-of-a-kind way of teaching yoga to children. The YogaKids program is more than just poses. It blends traditional yoga and its benefits with theories of multiple learning styles in a comprehensive, imaginative, and playful approach to education. This revolutionary approach, developed by YogaKids founder, yoga-pioneer/ educator/author Marsha Wenig, has been helping children — along with adults — discover the pleasures and benefits of yoga for over 20 years.

Attendees will experience life-changing love and laughter, led by one of our experienced trainers. They will be introduced to all 14 of the YogaKids Elements, the building blocks of this amazing program. These Elements (Math Medley, Laughing Language, Visual Vignettes… to name just a few) incorporate all the different ways children learn. They combine yoga with reading, writing, science, art, music, games, ecology, philosophy and much more — and thus, create a matrix for learning that’s accessible to all children.

Attendees also will be introduced to the 20 categories of YogaKids poses/activities. The YogaKids program has over 185 poses/activities and the Foundations Training teaches 85 of them. (The others can be learned by joining the Certification track.) Some poses are based on traditional yoga asanas, while many are unique to the YogaKids program. In addition, attendees will learn successful strategies for lesson planning and will have the opportunity to teach an original YogaKids class to children. Other topics covered during the workshop include teaching teens, inclusive teaching, and guidelines for teaching a successful YogaKids class.

Foundations Training events are for anyone wanting to give the gift of yoga to children: yogis, parents, teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other child-focused professionals. No yoga experience is required.

Each webinar event will last between 60-90 minutes.

TRAINER: Judy Brennan

Judy Brennan discovered the mind and body benefits of Yoga while working in a corporate management profession where stress levels were high. This discovery led her to want to bring yoga to her own two children who at the time were also experiencing stress within the fast paced environment and curriculum of elementary school. After searching the local area and not being able to find a kid’s yoga teacher, she decided to become the teacher.

Since making that idea a reality, she has continued her mission to bring yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to large populations of children and teens throughout the world, believing that teaching the children of today will change the world of tomorrow.

Judy has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and is a certified 500-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher. She completed her first yoga certification through YogaKids International with founder Marsha Wenig. She is a Teacher Trainer For YogaKids and travels the globe teaching yoga, mindfulness, and meditation to parents and professionals in healthcare and educational environments. She is a Health and Wellness Educator and Speaker certified through the Chopra Center for Well Being in the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga and Primordial Sound Meditation.

Judy loves how the YogaKids and Chopra Center certifications compliment each other. Both certifications give her the information and tools needed to educate and inspire adults, children, and teens, to be healthy and strong in body and mind, and to know that they are in control of manifesting what they want for their futures.
